Dr. MaryAnn (Molly) Caldwell

Practice Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Molly graduated with High Honors from the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. As president of her graduating class, she promoted all classmates to be as energetic and passionate about their profession as the day each graduate got their diploma. She still strives to excel and improve her level of veterinary medicine each and every day.

She was born in Indiana though her family is from Ohio. Her father was in banking and moved the family south and ended up settling in Venice in the late 1970’s. Dr. Molly graduated from Venice High School in 1983 before attending UF and graduating with a B.S. in Agriculture majoring in Animal Science in 1987. In between undergrad and vet school, she backpacked through Europe, worked on Ocala horse farms and then took a position as the Equine Neonatal Intensive Care Supervisor in the Large Animal Hospital at UF. From there, even though she decided to go to vet school, she deferred for one year for a job position in Scone, New South Wales to help start the first “foal unit” in Australia.

After vet school, she moved back to the west coast of Florida and worked in the area before purchasing Venice Pines Veterinary Clinic in December of 1996. She and her husband Jim have been married for 20+ years and have 2 children, Jamie and Will. At this time, they just have two crazy dogs Taia and Max, and a clinic cat, Sundance. In the past Dr. Molly has flooded the house and the vet clinic with rescues especially from the in house adoption program that had existed at the clinic as well as from Suncoast Humane Society. She served on the board of directors there for 7 years. She still serves on the Board of Directors for Caldwell Trust Company and is a member of many veterinary and local community organizations.
